The Joint Program Production Institution of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in cooperation with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information and Ooredoo Kuwait, owner of "Fast Telecommunications," organized a visual presentation of the institution's programs scheduled to be broadcast on the "51" platform. This cooperation comes within the framework of the institution's vision to market its works to all the people of the Arab Gulf, in coordination with government agencies and the private sector, keeping pace with the widespread reach of digital platforms in general, and the "51" platform in particular. This cooperation confirms the commitment of the three parties to finding innovative media solutions to address current challenges, foremost of which is the decline of Arabic language presence in content directed at children, amid the growing influence of foreign platforms and social media sites with unbalanced cultural characteristics.
The Director General of the Joint Program Production Institution, Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, stated that this step is part of a plan to distribute the institution's works through Gulf platforms as a first stage, followed by global digital platforms, keeping pace with technological development and the widespread reach of digital platforms, as witnessed with the "51" platform in Kuwait and its remarkable spread in GCC and Arab countries.
Al-Sabah added that the institution is currently launching a new phase through which it seeks to activate the "soft power" of joint program production, with a vision stemming from the deep roots of Gulf society, establishing the authenticity of values, facing challenges, and addressing generations in their language, without compromising the identity of the Gulf individual. Al-Sabah confirmed that the institution has already begun producing a group of works that embody awareness, preserve authenticity, promote values, and highlight the civilizational development of GCC countries at various levels.
He praised the significant role played by elite Gulf youth working in the institution, considering that they contribute to elevating Gulf media. He also recalled the founding leaders of the institution, who carried the ambitions of their homelands and believed that media could be a bridge for culture, a banner of unity and brotherhood, and a window to the world.
He simultaneously appreciated the efforts of those who successively managed the institution and contributed to producing works that remain entrenched in Gulf and Arab memory, which generations have preserved through screens for nearly five decades. Al-Sabah concluded his remarks by emphasizing that this launch will only be the beginning, within a strategic vision that the institution is working to implement, extending his thanks to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information and Ooredoo, owner of Fast Telecommunications, for this fruitful cooperation.
